Popeyes Menu Items Around The World We're Itching To Try

Popeyes was born in America, and more specifically in Louisiana, back in 1972, and its famous spicy roots have since spread Cajun flavors the world round. Popeyes' good name can now be found in over 5,000 restaurants around the globe, with 1,000 of them spread across South America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. While we have plenty of amazing items on Popeyes U.S. menus, it's always fun to look at menus abroad to see what we're missing out on.

Back in the day, in order to know what one could order on a chain's menu abroad, you had to actually go and find out for yourself. Now, thanks to the web that remains world wide, we can peruse these menus and drool at the possibilities in the comfort of our own homes. The Takeout scouted and scoured Popeyes menus from here, there, and everywhere and created a dream wish list of worldly items we're itching to try. Please note that some of these items may no longer be on menus today. However, the fact they existed is cause for jealous celebration regardless. Let's embark on this culinary adventure together. Passports and visas not included in this journey. Napkins aren't either.

Popeyes has proven itself adept at providing yummy fried items that originally hail from the turf, as well as the surf. For those who have trouble sticking to one, looking for a bit from column A as well as column B, Popeyes Taiwan launched just the ticket in 2026 with the Brioche Surf-and-Turf Double Star Burger.

This big mamma jamma unites the unlikely duo of a thick cut fried chicken thigh filet playing housemate to a crisp fried shrimp cutlet. It's dressed on top with something that would perhaps seem more at home on a cheesecake than a sandwich — a lemon cream cheese sauce. It sounds like such an odd coupling, and perhaps all too overwhelming with its varied flavors and textures, and yet we'd love nothing more than to wrap our hands around one of these burgers.

Popeyes' signature Cajun gravy is a winning dressing, and from at least 2013, customers in Canada have been treated to a new twist of it dousing a different kind of potatoes — fried ones with Cajun seasoning. The sight of Cajun Poutine on Popeyes' menu north of our border is no real shock, as the loaded fries with cheese curds side item is found all over the country. And since it's not an option on our shores, of course we're jealous of its existence.

One of the fatal flaw that plagues most poutines is that the weight of its gooey and cheesy toppings can sometimes make a mound of mush out of the underlying potatoes. Yet Popeyes' crispy battered ones are probably better suited for such a task, as they hold steady longer. One Reddit user confirmed as much, noting that Popeyes' "poutine goes insanely hard, mostly because their fries are godly."

If we were truly desperate, we could craft a makeshift version in the States, with the Cajun Fries and a side of gravy ready to pour over them. The cheese curds are the missing piece, but if Popeyes' awesome limited time Cheesy Bites happen to be on menus, we might be able to beat Canada at its own poutine game with them spread on top.

Like most chains, Popeyes has been really trying to push chicken wraps. They're basically just a long tender, some sauce, cheese, and a bit of lettuce rolled up in a tortilla. Nothing really special. However, one of the more intriguing wraps, and menu items in general that we came upon in our global search, was the Chicken Shawarma at Popeyes Saudi Arabia.

Shawarma is a beloved street meat in the Middle East, and really the world over. The spiced meat is famously cut from a vertical spit, and served in a flatbread with veggies and sauce. In 2025, Popeyes released its own take on restaurant-style chicken shawarma, with chopped up pieces of marinated chicken, as opposed to the traditional shaved version. It's joined by a few fries, shreds of lettuce, and drizzled with a white garlic sauce. After being wrapped up, the tortilla is then pressed for some impressive-looking grill marks. This is no simple wrap, folks — as it looks more like a shawarma burrito and we're all for this.

While shrimp, and occasionally flounder and crawfish, have dotted the menus of Popeyes in the U.S. over the years, one sea-worthy offering that can barely be found anywhere is crab. That is, unless of course, you're in the confines of a Popeyes in the Republic of Korea. Since 2025 it has been serving up Crunchy Crab. Inside the fried shell, an eater will find an imitation crab stick, along with bits of corn.

This is no entree, but more of a snack, as three of these nuggets come to an order. Their exterior kind of looks like the jagged edges of coconut shrimp, and this all adds up to a treat that we want to totally K-pop into our mouths. If we ever make it there, we may have to also toss in an order of Cream Puff Chewy Cheese Balls and a Deep Crunch Egg Tart.

These days, fast food spots are all about the sauces. That is especially true at Popeyes since it has branched well beyond its excellent standard chicken pieces and into more dippable ones, as well as sandwiches that of course need a savory or sweet condiment. While many of Popeyes' sauces are similar around the globe, there are several that are intriguing, like Poland's lime-and-jalapeno, or the ones available in Peru that range from the ceviche-like acevichada to the fruity-spiced cocona one.

However, one of the more unique ones we came across and bookmarked in our brains is the Dipper Mayo Bacon that hails from sunny Spain. How do we know this is any good? We trust the tagline on the Popeyes website that states — "Porque todo con bacon es mejor," which translates to "because everything is better with bacon." Truer words have never been spoken.

The one item we never expected to see on a Popeyes' menu was garlic bread. Variations on biscuits, yes, hash browns, sure, but garlic bread? What is this, Pizza Hut? Well, it has existed at Popeyes in Türkiye since the spring of 2025 as a standalone item. It's also available as a combo that pairs it with a cup of tomato-based Ban Ban Sauce.

The duo goes by the official title of Ban Ban Sos ve Sarımsaklı Ekmek. The name "Ban Ban" is a play on the Turkish word for dip or dunk, and the sauce is also free to work as a lather for Popeyes' chicken products as well. Beyond tomato paste, the Ban Ban sauce is further seasoned with an array of ingredients ranging from white vinegar, lemon juice, apple juice concentrate, ground black pepper, distilled vinegar, soy sauce, grape molasses, ground onion, ground cloves, ground allspice, ground cinnamon, and last but not least, garlic. That sounds like all-dressed potato chips, and if that's the case, we should get dressed up in something we don't mind getting our hands dirty with.

When it comes to rings, the Mt. Rushmore of rings are engagement, "Lord of the," Olympic, and onion. For that last one, Popeyes used to make not only the best in fast food, but best onion rings in the entire restaurant business, period. It's almost a travesty they're no longer a widely found on U.S. menus, and yet they can still be found at Popeyes abroad, and even in Canada. To add insult to delicious injury, the Popeyes locations in Spain offer something that sounds even better in a ring shape: Gouda Rings.

By name alone, Gouda Rings just sound so good-a. I mean, who doesn't love a good mozzarella stick, right? So imagine the cheese pulls that come out of this crispy-looking donut, and all the tasty possibilities from its filling of the Dutch cheese that runs a little sweet and nutty. Gouda Rings are also on the menu at Popeyes in Andorra, and a similar product that goes by Cheese Rings has been rung up on registers in Popeyes in France and Switzerland. Whenever we finally get our hands these Popeyes' cheese rings, we may have to bump the Olympics from Mt. Rushmore of rings.

Cajun cuisine has all kinds of rice dishes, and Popeyes in the U.S. has tried its best to honor that tradition. In its annals, alongside red beans and rice, Popeyes has previously offered sides including such wonders as jambalaya, crawfish étouffée, and the one that has gone by so many names — rice dressing, dirty rice, and Cajun rice. At Popeyes in the Middle East, there is a rice dish on the menu that hits closer to home tastes and appetites.

In Saudi Arabia, the spiced rice dish called kabsa is quite popular, and has been dubbed the country's "culinary crown jewel" by The Saudi Times. At the country's Popeyes, as well as in the neighboring United Arab Emirates, it can be found as a side item order. It works as the perfect bed for the chunks of the chain's chicken, and can be further decked out with one of its sauces drizzled all over it. In some cases it can be ordered as a meal together. Sounds like the perfect use of a spork.

Popeyes has arguably some of the best biscuits in the fast food biz. However, if you ever want to sweeten the deal, like its rival Bojangles does so well, your best bet is adding a side of jelly or perhaps holding out hope the lovely heart-shaped strawberry one returns. Luckily, our northern neighbors were treated to a "Woah Canada" limited time menu in the summer of 2026, which added some maple flavor not only to its chicken sandwich, but also as a glaze over its biscuits.

Just watch this promo Instagram video and try your best to not want to jump in a car and head north just to order one of these Maple Cinnamon Glazed Biscuits. Seems like after a heavy, salty and savory meal, a sweet biscuit with strong flavors is the perfect ending. It seems a little unfair that Popeyes locations in Maine don't get a taste of these biscuits, especially given the state's heavy supply of maple syrup. Don't even get us started on maple haven Vermont, which, alongside Wyoming, is devoid of a Popeyes altogether.

Cheese is awesome, no matter how you slice or what country it comes from. In Southern Indian cooking, paneer is a big time player and the cheese is a great swap for meat in some dishes. In August 2026, to appeal to a wider eating audience, Popeyes introduced a line of Paneer Burgers. Don't be thrown off by the word "burger," as there's no need for beef to be found anywhere even close to them, but that's just a general term for a sandwich served on a round bun in many spots around the world.

Each of Popeyes' Paneer Burgers centers around a thick, fried square slab of the cheese, which visually resembles McDonald's Filet-O-Fish. They are also garnished with a variety of veggies ranging from lettuce to pickles, and, in some cases, red onions or tomatoes. There are five different flavors of these burgers, each with its own signature sauce: Bold Paneer, Classic Paneer, American Mayo Paneer Burst, Habanero Paneer Burst, and Korean Paneer Burst. Four are housed in a sesame-seeded bun, and the Habanero Paneer Burst stands out from the lot with a more diverse seeded top. They are all so delicious looking that we'd be happy to "say cheese" to all of these burgers.

If you're looking for breakfast items at Popeyes, you won't commonly find them in the U.S. That hasn't stopped its international franchises around the globe from offering an a.m. menu. In 2025, Popeyes Singapore wanted to make sweet music in the morning for its customers with the launch of its Breakfast Symphony menu. On a menu that's headlined by Cajun sausage sandwiches, and even the good old combo of chicken and waffles, the one item that caught our eyes was the Poppy Chicken Porridge.

In a single bowl, Poppy Chicken Porridge unites the deliciousness of Popeyes' fresh buttermilk chicken tenders, cereal, and crunchy pieces of youtiao, which are essentially fried dough sticks similar to Spanish churros. It's one of the cheaper items on the breakfast menu, and despite so many heavier dishes being offered, the porridge has been described by some as one of the more comforting options.

The word "donut" carries such a sweet appeal, and the English word is used as-is in several other languages around the world. Popeyes in Vietnam serves a Donut Tôm. Before you get visions of some sugary dessert, this plump looking concoction runs savory as its name translates to exactly what it is — a shrimp donut.

This super-encrusted side item has been on menus since at least 2021, alongside other novel delicacies such as square fish bites and squid rings. The breaded exterior is very crispy, with a soft interior. The interior filling contains pieces of shrimp rather than a whole piece.

Chef Chad Kubanoff left America to start cooking in Vietnam, and while he didn't exactly love his first visit to the country's version of Popeyes, his one regret according to a TikTok video was not ordering the shrimp donut. We feel his pain from afar, and wish we could order up a baker's dozen of these shrimp donuts.

Popeyes has exploded all over the United Kingdom, now with over 100 locations. This expanding franchise has a super stacked menu to match, including a plethora of options for the morning. Everyone loves a good hash brown, and Popeyes U.K. has two — a regular one and one sprinkled with its famous Cajun seasonings. If for some reason you missed out on breakfast, these hash browns work an extra shift as a key element of the Superstack sandwiches.

It's well established how great Popeyes chicken sandwich is, so imagine the beautifully fried filet with the bonus crunch of a hash brown. How do you say, "yes, please" in English? Oh, wait. There are several Superstack Sandwiches with hash browns to order, which were first introduced in 2025. Choosing one depends on your flavor mode. There are versions that come with plain or spicy mayo, or drenched in hot honey. If you want to go all out, the Cajun Crunch Superstack Sandwich stacks the most within its soft brioche bun with red cabbage slaw, a chili cheese slice, and a smoky Kickback sauce.

If you want a whole chicken from Popeyes in the U.S., you have to order it in separate pieces in the form of legs, thighs, breasts and wings. The closest it gets to whole-y territory is when the chain peddles its Cajun-style turkeys come Thanksgiving time. If you love Popeyes and are looking for the whole enchilada, we mean, whole turkey (or rather chicken), then head on over to Indonesia.

These birds mildly resemble the rotisserie chickens that are ubiquitous in our grocery stores. The key difference here is that these chickens are infused with Popeyes' seasonings and then marinated for 12 hours. These whole chickens first flew onto menus in the tail end of 2025, and come in a variety of options, including fried or grilled, with hot sauce, or a pedas manis spicy-sweetened one.

One of the greatest appeals of a whole bird is the ability to eat the chicken however you like. The leg and thigh provide the juiciest and perhaps tastiest parts of the chicken, and here, you can eat them together as a perfect quarter. That sounds well worth any dime.
