Cup Noodles Is Running The Strangest Promo Ever — And We're Dying

Spooky season is upon us, and nothing is safe now, not even your food. Nissin Foods Cup Noodles are here to haunt you with a new limited-time product called Vampire Noodles, and hopefully they'll keep Dracula at bay while you sleep. That's because they're a hot garlic flavor (maybe you should pair them with Alton Brown's 40-clove garlic chicken), and after they're prepared, they take on a freaky blood-red hue. Cup Noodles has also teamed up with an unusual company for a ghoulish giveaway.

To create this gonzo giveaway, the brand is partnering with Titan Casket, an actual casket company — you know, the kind you get buried in. The casket will be embroidered with "It's To Die For" in the crushed black velvet head panel, and it will have a Cup Noodles logo dripping blood as well. Maybe you can store it in your guest room when your favorite vampire sleeps over — just make sure to get some really sturdy blackout curtains so your guest doesn't accidentally get fried by the light.

These Hot Garlic Chicken Vampire Noodles sound pretty good, but in this case, it's the giveaway that's truly playful. Cup Noodles has been known to pull its fair share of flavor stunts as well, however. I've been subjected to many of them, including Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner and Pumpkin Pie flavors (blech), breakfast Cup Noodles with egg and sausage bits, and Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese noodles. One of our contributors puckered up and tackled the sour Dill Pickle Cup Noodles too. I mean, it makes the chicken wing-inspired flavors sound completely tame in comparison.

So we've grown to expect these shenanigans from Cup Noodles; it seems like the brand will go to any length to play with our eating experience.
