Oreo Fans Are Running To The Store For Its New Holiday Treat: 'Omg I Need These Immediately'

Add The Takeout on Google:

Fans of sweet treats will be ecstatic to learn that Oreo is getting ahead of the impending rush of Christmas-themed snacks by releasing its new Oreo Cakesters Gingerbread in stores halfway through the month of October. That's right, according to an Instagram post by food blogger markie_devo, this brand new style of the popular Oreo Cakesters is already available at CVS stores across the country and is set to be more widely released on October 19 at select retailers, including Albertsons, Kroger, Publix, Meijer, and more.

While this isn't the first holiday-themed treat to land early at grocery stores (the Kirkland Signature Peppermint Bark from Costco had it beat by nearly a full month), it is certainly among the earliest signs of the 2026 Christmas season. The new treats feature two gingerbread-flavored cakes with a vanilla creme that is similar to what you'll find in other versions of the unique snack. Prices are likely to vary depending on your location but early estimates are that a 10-count box of the limited-time treats will cost $4.99.

Many consumers are excited for the new Oreo Cakesters Gingerbread

A gingerbread-flavored Oreo product isn't necessarily reinventing the wheel like some other great new Oreo cookies from 2026, but the Gingerbread Cakesters are one of just a few different flavors of the soft-baked cookies currently on sale so they've been the subject of plenty of excitement from Oreo fans online. One excited commenter on the Instagram post teasing the new product's existence theorized the new dessert would be particularly tasty. "Omg I need these immediately," the commenter said. "I bet these are better than the cookie ones." Another commenter shared this excitement, saying, "These sound so good. Honestly I never thought we were going to a limited edition Oreo Cakesters flavor."

For those unaware, this shock and excitement comes partly from the fact the Cakesters line was discontinued in 2012 after the first version debuted in 2007. The treat was brought back by popular demand in 2022 and has since become a popular fixture in the Oreo lineup. In fact, when Oreo released four new products in late 2025, it was the Oreo Cakesters Confetti Cakes that stood out as the best of the bunch. So, if you want to get your hands on a brand new take on one of Oreo's most beloved product lines, grab the Oreo Cakesters Gingerbread when it releases on October 19.
