Little Debbie's New Drink-Inspired Treat Has Fans Ready For The Holidays — 'Yup Running To The Store'

Add The Takeout on Google:

It might still be warm outside in most of the United States, but Little Debbie wants us all to get cozy and hunker down for winter. According to an Instagram post from @snackolator, the McKee Foods brand is set to release Hot Cocoa Mini Muffins in time for the holidays. Although Little Debbie hasn't made an official announcement yet, rumors are swirling on social media like cream swirls on hot chocolate. Folks have been enthusiastic about the imminent muffin drop, with one snack lover on Instagram saying, "Yup running to the store." Another demanded, rather poetically, "Shove these down my gullet."

We don't have a lot of information yet, but the mini muffins appear to be a chocolate sponge with a healthy dose of mini-marshmallows mixed in. They're going to come in single-serve bags of four muffins, so they're likely to be the tiny two-bite treats we know from other muffins from the brand, like Little Debbie's Flapjack Mini Muffins.

On top of joining the pantheon of Little Debbie Christmas snack cakes, the cocoa and marshmallow mini-muffins are also part of a hot-drink-inspired treat tradition from the brand. In summer 2026, Mocha Swiss Rolls hit the shelves, and 2020 saw the limited release of Cinnamon Spiced Hot Chocolate Mini Donuts. At this point, it's unclear whether the new muffins will be a one-time release like their little donut cousins or become a regular product, but they certainly look good enough to stick around.

What we know about when these holiday Little Debbie muffins will be released

Based on other early announcements that first appeared on @snackolator's social media, we should start seeing the Hot Cocoa Mini-Muffins on shelves within a few weeks. Allegedly, they're arriving in time for the holidays, which makes perfect sense given that's also prime hot cocoa season. It is, however, kind of a tight turnaround for the all-American baking brand, which has already had a busy few months.

In early August, Little Debbie dropped its pumpkin-spice-crammed fall line-up. A few weeks later, there was a classy collab with Compartés that saw Little Debbie venturing into the world of high-end chocolate bars. Then, in September, the family-owned business teamed up with Crumbl for a sweet Little Debbie cookie lineup before those pancake-inspired mini muffins hit shelves a few days later. As we all know, elves really ramp up productivity at this time of year, so they should have no trouble at all getting the Hot Cocoa Mini Muffins out before all the autumn leaves hit the ground.
