The Burger King Chicken Item That's Not Worth The Money, In Our Humble Opinion

We recently reviewed nine chicken items from Burger King and tried everything from the sandwiches down to the nuggets. Out of all these chickeny items, we found a few sandwiches really sung (or crowed) while a few other items were sore disappointments. Unfortunately, we found that two of the wraps, the Spicy Original Chicken Wrap and the Classic Original Chicken Wrap, fought for the last place spot. In the end, Burger King's Classic Original Chicken Wrap took the opposite of first place.

That's a shame since everyone loves a good portable chicken wrap (we're looking at you, McDonald's Snack Wrap, which we love). Our taste tester was most let down by the fact the BK wrap was simply, well, bland. Though we generally enjoy BK's chicken since it's not overly reliant on breading, our taste tester had less-than-flattering things to say about it, writing, "This wrap has nothing going for it. The flavor is bland and is only good for satiating hunger, much like hospital food. I would avoid this option unless you only have a few dollars, and even then, the BK menu is rife with other affordable picks."

Now that you know we're not fans of the Classic Original Chicken Wrap or its spicy companion, we do have a suggestion for you. We much preferred the Honey Mustard Original Chicken Wrap instead. The simple honey mustard in this one is where it really gets interesting since the mustard isn't too potent plus the honey isn't sugary sweet. The only caveat is that the Honey Mustard Original Chicken Wrap is a mess, as our writer noted: "The honey mustard sauce was runny and dripped out, so keep some napkins handy. I got it in the webbing of my fingers, which irked my experience. Textural issues aside, this is a great treat overall."

When it comes to price, all three of these wraps are $2.99. But even though you won't be paying a ton for one, you might as well get the version that packs the most flavor into each penny you spend. So when you're looking to enjoy chicken at BK, steer clear of the Classic Original Chicken Wrap and get the messy but balanced Honey Mustard Original Chicken Wrap instead. It brings the flavor the original one is sorely missing.
