And as we slowly (albeit very slowly) leave the steamy weather behind and ease into those "cool, crisp days" everyone talks about whenever autumn rolls around, Publix delivers on both sides, walking the summer-fall frontier with foods that fit either season.

You can stock up on whatever you need for your end-of-summer parties, whether it's meat for the grill or munchies for a picnic. Or grab treats that help bring the temperature down, like seasonal ice cream flavors perfect for those not-yet-cool almost-fall days. And for those who think it's never too early for pumpkin spice season, Publix has already stocked up on an array of pumpkin-flavored items before the real pumpkins are even ready to leave the patch.

Here's a list of new, limited-edition, or featured items for August that will help you round out your summer and usher in the fall. Whether you're still in the mood for sandcastles and sea breezes or already focused on sweaters and cider, Publix will keep you happy and fed.

Publix is getting fancy and offering Black Truffle Kettle Chips for a limited time. They're made with black truffle mushroom powder, so you know they're the real deal. 

Incidentally, truffles hold the honor of being the costliest food, with top-tier truffles selling for over $100,000. Lucky for you, though, Publix sells its truffle chips for less than 5 bucks a bag.

There are still plenty of good grilling days left this summer, so keep your Big Green Egg busy and your family happy with Publix's Limited-Edition Pesto-Provolone Cheese Italian Sausage. These smoky, seasoned pork sausages will be the life of any cookout or Labor Day party, so you can say ciao to summer with Italian flair.

Publix is already introducing seasonal flavors for both fall and winter (is it eggnog time already?). Since we're in nearly fall mode now, we recommend the Limited Edition Deep Dish Apple Pie Premium Ice Cream or the Limited Edition Pumpkin Pie Premium Ice Cream. The apple pie flavor consists of apple-flavored ice cream with real apple pieces, a brown sugar cinnamon sauce, and bits of sweet pie crust mixed in. As for the pumpkin variety, it's made up of pumpkin pie ice cream swirled with whipped cream and chock-full of buttery pie crust pieces. 

Need more pumpkin spice in your life? You're not alone. An estimated 62% of Americans get pumped up for pumpkin, per The Marketing Cloud, spending over $800 million every fall (via ASU News) on their favorite autumn flavor. And if you're going to go gaga for gourds, why not do it in donut form? 

Move over, apple cider donuts (yes, even these rave-worthy ones at Trader Joe's). Pumpkin donuts are where it's at in this pumpkin spice-obsessed world. Entenmann's 8-Count Pumpkin Donuts are made with real pumpkin and lightly glazed, and right now, they're fresh from the company's bakery, as these donuts come out in August each year (through November). Or, if you want even fresher than that, Krispy Kreme delivers its newly made 6-Count Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnuts to Publix daily.

As part of Publix's ongoing "Pistachio Takeover" this summer, the supermarket chain has been offering pistachio-flavored everything, from cookies to cod. After all, it's prime season for pistachios, especially in California, since they ripen and are harvested in late summer and early fall. 

These little green wonders are said to be aphrodisiacs, and to test that point, you're sure to feel amorous toward the Publix Deli Pistachio Pudding. The creamy pudding is priced by the pound and comes topped with whipped cream and chocolate chips.

Sure, the world seems to love a good pumpkin spice latte (if statistics and lines at Starbucks don't lie). But sometimes you need something a little stronger. And that's when Samuel Adams can be your new best friend.

Pop open a cold one and sip some pumpkin like it's meant to be sipped (latte schmatte, we say) with a Sam Adams Seasonal Jack-O Pumpkin Ale. This fall-centric beer has spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, and yes, even real pumpkin, because it's meant to taste like pumpkin pie in a glass. It's only available for a limited time, though, so try it before it's gone.

Little Debbie is gearing up for autumn with a selection of fall-flavored snack cake varieties that are available at Publix. Take the Fall Pumpkin Spice Rolls, for instance — made with creme wrapped up in a pumpkin spice cake roll and topped with a drizzle of icing. And there's the Little Debbie Family Pack Fall Party Cakes — a box containing six big, individually wrapped yellow cakes with creme filling, surrounded by white icing, and finished off with fall-colored sprinkles on top.

Poor September, formerly the queen of fall-flavor unveiling, is getting lost in the pumpkin spice shuffle. By the time next month rolls around, pumpkin will already be old news, and some of the initial seasonal euphoria will have already begun to wear off.
