Trader Joe's Is Bringing Back A Discontinued Thanksgiving Find That Has Solo Diners Rejoicing
Thanksgiving is typically a time of the year when friends and family congregate to enjoy a feast together, but sometimes attending the gathering just isn't in the cards. Still, that doesn't mean folks spending the day solo aren't craving a warm, savory meal. This year, that's as easy as stopping by Trader Joe's and picking up the once-discontinued Turkey & Stuffing En Croute, which is currently back on shelves just in time for the holiday.
The heat-and-serve frozen meal consists of a seasoned boneless turkey breast and cornbread stuffing encased in a buttery puff pastry, all weighing 2 ½ pounds. Preparing it couldn't be easier — just toss it in the oven after thawing in the fridge for 24 hours, and dinner is served. Many customers thought this was destined to be another fan-favorite Trader Joe's frozen food they would never see again, as it disappeared years ago and hasn't been seen since. But in a fortunate turn of events, the neighborhood grocer has brought it back to the freezer aisle, and social media users have already taken notice.
Although the packaging indicates it serves eight, many in the subreddit r/traderjoes thought TJ's Turkey & Stuffing En Croute would be a perfect holiday meal for people who don't have many mouths to feed on Thanksgiving. One person said, "Shoot, I'm solo this Thanksgiving; I might pick this up." Another wrote, "Nice, Thanksgiving dinner for one or two!" It's also a terrific deal at just $16.99 a pop, which impressed another Redditor who said, "I'm a college student and this seems like the perfect budget Thanksgiving meal, lol."
Fans are excited for an easy, appetizing Thanksgiving
The return of the Turkey & Stuffing En Croute has long-time TJ's loyalists remembering how delicious it was when it was previously available. One customer who purchased the Trader Joe's find that can feed a few hungry guests in the past rejoiced at its homecoming: "Yay! I have looked for this every Thanksgiving for the last few years. It smells so good when it's baking." Another fan of the holiday meal was happy they get to take a break from the kitchen this Thanksgiving. "Yay! I've been making my own version the past few years but it is much more work," they said.
However, one person noticed a disappointing change to the meal. "It used to come with a gravy packet & cranberry sauce...," they said. There's no indication on the packaging or list of ingredients that condiments are included, so customers will have to buy those separately or opt for some of Trader Joe's other best sauces. The good news is that TJ's will be carrying this frozen find through December, so there's plenty of time to stock up and keep a couple tucked away in the freezer for those cold winter nights when you want a mouthwatering meal made easy.
