Costco Shoppers Are Swarming The Store Hoping To Find This New Fall Treat: 'WHAT?! These Look Delicious'

It's fall, which means everything apple: apple picking, apple pie. apple cider, and caramel apples, among many other favorites. From Gala to Granny Smith, this is the time or year to really apple it up.

Costco is getting into the apple spirit as well. It's introducing caramel apples that are about as big as snow globes — as in "a snow globe that is too big to be allowed to pass through any TSA checkpoint." They're huge, they're gooey, and they're loaded; in addition to the caramel, they're also covered in goodies like rainbow sprinkles, nuts, cookie pieces, chocolate, and more.  And social media is all abuzz as everyone eagerly awaits the arrival of these apples in their local store. "WHAT?! These look delicious," posted one Instagrammer. "Just give me until Friday Costco I'm getting my braces off," wrote another.

However, the apples, which are made for Costco by the Candy and Chocolate Company of Phoenix, Arizona, do have a couple of downsides. First, their appearance in Costo is a "Special Events Roadshow," meaning that the apples are a temporary addition to the Costco repertoire and will be traveling around to various stores, so not every location will carry them.

Also, these apple goliaths are on the pricey side. The price per apple at Costco starts at $5.33, but one person posted that she paid as much as $12 per apple and that there was a minimum purchase requirement of four. If you do get ahold of some, there are hacks to make them last longer if you don't eat them right away. It'd be a shame to lose such a delicious investment (though they are far too good to stick around for long).

If you're not one of the lucky ones to have these caramel apples at a Costco store near you, don't let it ruin your whole fall season. Thankfully, Costco has other caramel apple-y products in stock while you wait for that coveted caramel colossus to turn up at your local warehouse.
