Mark Zuckerberg And Sweet Baby Ray's: A Love Story

Who cares about Meta? Mark Zuckerberg uses barbecue sauce as a bookend.

On Thursday, Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg announced the company will be changing its name to Meta. Call me crazy, but I don't care about that. The real story here came from the announcement.

The live stream of Zuckerberg at one point showed him standing in what we assume is his home with some bookshelves behind him. Viewers of the live stream noticed in the top right corner of the screen, upon a shelf, sat a bottle of barbecue sauce—Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce to be exact—being used as a bookend. This is where the internet did what it does best. It went meme crazy.

On top of the memes, internet sleuths were quick to point out that Zuckerberg has a long-standing love of that tangy sauce. Back in 2016, the CEO went viral with the same sauce at the heart of it all. At least that time, the sauce was actually being used. Just your average billionaire cooking up some meat in his backyard with his favorite condiment on deck and millions of live viewers listening to him repeatedly mention Sweet Baby Ray's.

Flash forward to 2021 and people are wondering why this bottle is just sitting up there holding up a row of non-discernible books. My own investigative eyes tell me that the bottle is brand new, so I guess we can't ding him for not refrigerating the stuff. The real question then, was this done on purpose? Maybe Zuckerberg is just trying to seem relatable. You know because of course regular people can't afford bookends, so we just use condiments in our decorating.

Or has Zuckerberg gone in the style of Marvel movies and planted an Easter egg for us all to find?

What does it all mean!?
