Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson Is Building A Stellar Reputation As A Good Tipper
Since everyone loves hearing nice celebrity fun facts, here's a good one for you: Turns out Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson is a really good tipper. Complex reports that the retired pro-football player left a more-than-generous $1,000 tip on a $4.28 tab on May 29. The restaurant he visited was Turkey Leg Hut in Houston (which looks and sounds awesome), and he must have really enjoyed it.
Johnson took a photo of the receipt and put it on Twitter.
The caption reads, "Proverb 11:25 (Turkey Leg Hut edition)."
I looked up the proverb and it states, "A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed."
This was not an isolated incident. Just a week before, he left another $1,000 tip at Havana's Cuban Cuisine in Cooper City, Florida, on a meal of $37. He also left a 1,405% tip at Gus' World Famous Fried Chicken in Austin, Texas, and an inside-joke tip of $276 on a $91 meal with a note saying, "I only had 276 yards with the Patriots which was really horrible." It's good to know and admit our shortcomings, you know?
In service industry circles, people love sharing stories of celebrities they've served. And, just letting you know (in case you were planning on being a celebrity), people do take note of your behavior. Everyone's delighted when you're a great tipper (of course—and many celebrities are, quietly), but what's more noted is if you're an asshole. That kind of thing is practically inscribed in stone. So it's always nice hearing when people spend their money kindly when they can.
