The New Costco Deli Find That Fans Want All To Themselves: 'One Of The Best Meals They've Done Lately!'
Costco's new Teriyaki Chicken with Sushi Rice bowl looks undeniably tasty, but shoppers are divided as to whether it could feed a family. On November 4, influencer Laura Jayne Lamb, who goes by @costcohotfinds on Instagram, shared a reel highlighting the fresh deli find. "It's right around 2 pounds for under $12, and you're getting two to three meals out of this," Lamb explained, showing off a clamshell container full of glossy, sauce-soaked chicken thighs sprinkled with green onion over rice.
Instagrammers weren't convinced, though. Many claimed that Lamb's "two to three meals" comment was an overestimate. "I can eat that by myself in 15 minutes," one user wrote. "That would feed one teen boy," another added. Three servings does seem to be a stretch — especially when it looks so easy to scarf the meal down in one go.
Many people also expressed wanting to eat all of it themselves instead of sharing, especially when you have Lamb claiming the Costco product was "one of the best meals they've done lately." While Costco's deli has released a few flops in 2026, the teriyaki bowl doesn't seem to be one of them. Lamb raved, "The chicken thighs have that perfect char and underneath is a delicious sticky sushi rice." An Instagram user chimed in, saying, "I had to his for dinner yesterday and it was delicious. Is Costco's teriyaki chicken bowl worth it?
Costco's Teriyaki Chicken Bowl with Sushi Rice is priced at $5.99 per pound, with bowls weighing in at around 2 pounds each. That's cheaper than most takeout, even if you do down the whole thing yourself. Still, some shoppers felt that the bowl was overpriced.
"Just get the rotisserie chicken and make it yourself. Especially if you prefer white meat," one commenter wrote. It's true that the bowl would be easy to make at home — especially if you don't mind swapping the charred chicken for shredded rotisserie. Others noted that a DIY bowl would probably be cheaper, and you'd end up with more food for the family.
This isn't the first time that customers have complained that a deli find is overpriced. When Spam musubi appeared in Costco deli cases, fans were quick to complain about the cost. If you prefer to save money over time, you might want to use Costco's deli for homemade dinner inspiration instead of a one-stop shop. Just grab a rotisserie chicken and a bag of rice. No need to buy teriyaki: You can make your own teriyaki sauce with ingredients you probably have in your pantry.
