Man Jumps Burger King Counter Armed With Chair
A chair doesn't seem like your usual weapon, maybe it's something you grab when you are otherwise defenseless. Or, when you're looking to smack someone in the kneecap during a WWE match:
Yet, the armed-with-chair approach seemed to work—momentarily—for a man in New Orleans who attempted to rob a Burger King on Monday. The New Orleans Times-Picayune says that the 35-year-old man "armed himself with a chair and went behind the counter," according to a preliminary police report. The man raised the chair, threatened employees and demanded food."
Employees complied, but the man was soon captured by police a few blocks later. Presumably, he had ditched the chair by then. The Times-Picayune reports that the man was booked on Tuesday.
We're thankful no one was seriously hurt. And please, leave the chair attacks to the professionals.
