Airport Crime Dog Has Best Day Of Career, Finds Whole Roasted Pig In Luggage
When you're a crime dog at an airport, probably most days are just like any other. Maybe you sniff some weed, maybe there's a bomb scare, maybe you get some treats. So small wonder that Hardy, a member of the Beagle Brigade at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, looks undeniably thrilled over his find of a whole roasted pig in some luggage traveling from Ecuador.
I mean, look how happy Hardy looks!
As Fox5 in Atlanta reports, "U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents and their K-9 coworker discovered something unusual when they looked in a checked luggage back at Hartsfield-Jackson: a cooked pig." The pig was discovered when CPB Agriculture Detector Hardy likely got the most delicious whiff he's ever come across on the job.
Said CBP Area Port Director for the Port Of Atlanta Carey Davis: "Our best defense against destructive pests and animal diseases is to prevent the entry of prohibited agriculture products from entering the United States. This seizure at ATL illustrate the tremendous expertise of our four-legged K-9 partners in protecting the United States." Good boy, Hardy! We would like to think you got to keep your find and eat it, but we kind of doubt it. Hopefully you got some extra treats that day.
