We Taste Zombie Beer (With Brains In It) And The Latest Game Of Thrones Brew

We first tasted Brewery Ommegang's line of Game Of Thrones beers last year—specifically, the Iron Throne Blonde Ale—and largely due to our approval of that first effort, Ommegang decided to continue making the beverages. The enormous popularity of the Game Of Thrones premium cable television program may also have factored into the brewery's decision, but mostly it was us.

This time, Marah Eakin and Erik Adams sampled Ommegang's Fire And Blood Red Ale, which evokes the taste of delicious dragons. This variety comes with three different labels, each one of which features one of Daenerys Targaryen's three dragons, Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion. But we only got two bottles, which depict Drogon and Viserion, maybe.

Marah and Erik also tried Dock Street Brewing Co.'s novelty brew, Walker, a "malt beverage brewed with roasted goat brains and cranberries." It's a zombie thing, you see, on account of zombies love to eat cranberries. Most of the tasting session involved nervous discussion of the sediment in the glasses, but the beer received passing marks from our testers.

By the way, Marah and Erik used those chocolate-covered Ritz crackers on the table as a "palate cleanser" between beers; the crackers taste fine, but they were too boring to include in the video. And so that Ritz box sits there in the background, like our own edible Three Men And A Baby ghost.
