Last Call: Hear 2 Takeout Writers' Actual Voices

When he's not writing about pasta or sake for The Takeout, Jeff Cioletti hosts a far-ranging travel and booze podcast called The Drinkable Globe. In September, Jeff and I met up during Great American Beer Festival in Denver to record an episode that was released yesterday. We talk about my chemical dependence on coffee, how we ended up writing about beer, and—no joke—why The Takeout commenters are great. Give our awkward voices a listen! [Kate Bernot]

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel should be your next binge-watch

The second season of Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel drops tomorrow, and unlike other series this year like Legion and The Handmaid's Tale, it suffers no sophomore slump. Quite the opposite, in fact: A fun trek to the Catskills injects new life into the series, and will get you in vacation mode a few weeks before the holidays. If you haven't caught the first season yet, remedy that asap; then settle in for a delightful season two following the titular character as she tries to carve out a career in standup comedy—quite a departure for a 1959 housewife from the Upper West Side.
