Breastfeeding Mom Has Great Response When Asked To "Cover Up"
Breastfeeding, we're told, is the most natural thing in the world, and doing so without a cover is legal in all 50 states. Still, many moms carry a small sheet or blanket around in their various diaper bags to cover up when their child needs to nurse in public.
Still, it's easy to see while Carol Lockwood's recent Facebook post of a mom's response to "cover up." went viral. Lockwood hasn't met her friend's daughter-in-law, but shared this picture of her after a man at a restaurant asked her to cover up when she was feeding her child while on vacation in Mexico. Pure speculation: The woman didn't toss a cover over her baby because it was summer in Mexico and likely stiflingly hot.

So when the man urged her to cover up, she threw the cover right over her head. Well done, Carol Lockwood's friend's daughter-in-law. Yahoo Lifestyle reports that the woman in question is 34-year-old Melanie Dudley, a stay-at-home mother from Austin, Texas, who also has 4-year-old twins (god bless her). She said that "the move was spontaneous. 'I was on vacation in Cabo San Lucas with my entire family and a man asked me to cover myself... I'm usually discreet, but we were seated in the back of the restaurant.'" She asked her husband to hand her a cover, and then threw it over her face. Hilarious photo op ensued.
For her part, Lockwood stresses, "I am SO over people shaming women for nursing!" Hear, hear.
