Last Call: We Could All Soon Own Glass Rinsers Just Like Bars Have

Pay attention to your bartender and you'll notice they often give beer glasses a quick rinse before filling them, using a special fountain-like device mounted behind the bar. That quick swish rinses out dust or particles that may have settled there, penetrating even corners where a sponge couldn't go. I've long envied such technology, and now Delta Faucet Company's innovation arm is crowdfunding a home version called First Wave that fits in a standard sink setup. The initial campaign is already full, but I'll keep an eye out for a mass-market retail debut in a few years. [Kate Bernot]

Check out this headless chicken monster

Actually, "monster" is a strong term: It's just this thing that looks like a headless chicken floating along the bottom of the ocean in Australia. As The Washington Post noted, "A recent sighting by Australian scientists marked the first time this particular sea creature has been seen in the Southern Ocean." While some people are a bit taken aback by the strangeness of this particular guy, as my 11-year-old son pointed out almost immediately, "What's the big deal? It's just a sea cucumber." Moral of the story: We should all be watching more nature shows (like he does) if only to get to check out more cool stuff like this. [Gwen Ihnat]
