Why You Should Store Ripe Bananas In The Fridge

NEWS

By Angela L. Pagán

The key to keeping bananas nice and ripe is to store them in the fridge. The climate of the fridge slows down the ripening process, allowing you to enjoy your bananas for longer.
This storage method is also all about timing. When your bananas hit their ideal ripeness to you, the fridge can help this optimal stage last longer.
However, putting them in the fridge before they're ripe can ruin the taste and lead to the banana tasting bitter. It also likely won't ripen and will remain too hard to enjoy.
