There's no wrong way to prepare a potato, but there is a way that makes them crispy and irresistible: cottage fries, potatoes sliced into discs and roasted in the oven.
For this recipe, use a very starchy and large potato with an ovular shape like a football. Cut the potato into discs and toss them in cooking oil and seasoning.
Lay the potato discs side by side on a baking sheet, then roast them in the oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for about 25 minutes until they are a crispy golden brown.
While cottage fries get their name for the way they’re arranged in a pan, deep frying them is tasty as well. Dip the fries in any of your favorite sauces to enjoy.
